The Bravery School
The Bravery School is a collaborative project, devised by Artist Rosalind J Turner, which explores the cultural narratives around women and bravery through a variety of methods. The first run of the project saw writers, dancers, performers, a story teller and photographers come together to create a series of images which tackle issues and raise questions around the difficulties women face in their daily lives, and thinking about how we can over come these.
Working in partnership with photographer Sarah Robbins, we produced a body of work which aims to highlight these problems whilst empowering the women who took part in the Bravery School. The project came to fruition in an exhibition at The Island, Bristol where over the course of the week talks and workshops were held to continue the quest to give support to women.
